How to Write Content That Gets Clients: Keep It Short, Simple, and Scannable
Here’s the truth: We humans don’t read online—we scan. So if your website or marketing is a giant wall of text, you’re losing clients faster than you can say “scroll.” Let me introduce you to my 3 favorite words for content success:
Short.
Simple.
Scannable.
Why Short, Simple, and Scannable Works
Did you know the average person scrolls through 300 feet of social media daily? That’s the height of the Statue of Liberty! We don’t have time for long-winded paragraphs or fancy metaphors. Instead, we crave content that’s quick, digestible, and gets straight to the point.
Pro Tip: Add Another “S” Word—Storytelling
Short, simple content doesn’t mean boring. Adding a bit of storytelling makes your brand relatable and memorable. Here’s why it works: Psychology. We’re wired to love short, simple stories. They’re easy to process, and they stick in our brains. Think about it: When was the last time you actually read an entire page on a website?
What to Skip in Your Content
Long Lists: Nobody needs 40 lessons you learned at 40.
Big Blocks of Text: They’re intimidating and exhausting to read.
Overly Complex Metaphors: If you need a thesaurus to write it, your audience needs one to read it.
Keep It Short, Simple, and Scannable
If you want more clients, your content needs to work as hard as you do. Break up your text, get to the point, and make your message stick. Need help crafting bold, scannable content that turns visitors into clients?
