$20K Feedback
I paid $20K for feedback.
It was the best investment I ever made.
When I studied UX Design, I had the best career coach, Mark Perkins.
He was the first to give me real, honest feedback.
I was always the straight-A student, top-performing teacher.
Rarely did anyone give me feedback.
When you're perceived to be at the top, people just say, "Keep working hard."
They assume you have it figured out.
But Mark counted the "I"s and periods in my resume. He didn't sugarcoat anything.
I listened and implemented. He gave me more feedback.
I realized there's always room to grow.
Even in minute details.
When I started my business, I had no idea what I was doing. Journaling showed I wasn't happy.
I needed a coach.
The right coach.
Luckily, I found one.
But she cost $20,000 a year.
Why not hire a cheaper coach?
Because she was the best. She'd been doing this for years.
I was 100% aligned with her book, podcast, and newsletters.
And I knew if I spent that much, I'd be fully engaged.
We tend not to value low-cost things.
Every time I log into her sessions, I'm fully present. I'm paying to be there.
If I don’t listen or implement, I steal from myself.
Each call, she challenged me. Each call, she gave me feedback.
It was hard, but I wanted growth - and I got it.
My business grew exponentially within a few months and I only expect more.
Badasses invest in themselves and listen to outside perspectives.
I have a finance coach. A life coach. And a business coach.
Badasses love feedback and implement it!
